Due to the nature and variety of some off-site visits it is strongly recommended that professional advice is sought by schools planning to take their students on a trip, that is anything of other than ordinary. In fact, it is a Local Authority requirement that any school or youth service trip or Educational Visit (EV) involving one or more of the following categories, must be endorsed by the Local Authority before proceeding:
Cornwall Outdoors provides a highly respected educational visits advisory service and training course for staff taking responsibility for planning school visits.
Every school must have a designated Educational Visit Coordinator (EVC ) who has completed the local authority training. This designated EVC can advise leaders in all aspects of planning and organising a visit. For details of our full day EVC training please access the courses on-line booking system www.cornwalllearningonline.co.uk. Course code for the full one-day training course for Educational Visit Coordinators is CLO9.
In line with Cornwall Council policy and national requirements EVCs are required to re-validate their training every 3 years in order to demonstrate currency in their role. If you have not completed the full EVC training in the last 3 years please access our online booking system www.cornwalllearningonline.co.uk and book onto the next available EVC re-validation course. Please search for course code CLO25.
