The Delaware Outdoor Education Centre, overlooking the Tamar Valley provides a spacious, centrally heated, residential base, with a large sports field and a sunny garden with picnic benches. It provides a superb base in which to undertake a range of adventurous, outdoor and educational activities.
Delaware provides dormitory accommodation, for up to 44 people. In the main Centre The Old School there are 5 large dormitories: four rooms sleeping 8 and one room sleeping 12. Each room is furnished with bunk-beds.
In addition to the 44 student beds, there are 3 staff rooms; two rooms sleeping 2 and 1 single room. In addition to the bedrooms there is a kitchen, dining room / common room, showers, toilets and drying room.
At the Delaware Centre, we specialise in outdoor and adventurous activities and our experienced instructors have an excellent reputation for delivering safe and enjoyable activity sessions at all levels.

When attending an offsite activity we will transport your group to the venue using our Centre minibuses.
We now have an indoor all weather activity barn which has an extensive climbing wall, and space for indoor activities if the weather is inclement.
When choosing your activity programme it is best to consult with the Centre staff well in advance of your visit. We like to recommend that you do this at least one month before you arrive.

We provide a full catering service for our mid-week, term time bookings. For weekends and school holidays if you would prefer to be self-catered we recommend that a member of staff holds the Food Hygiene Certificate.
The Delaware Centre is situated within the picturesque Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Along the banks of the River Tamar you will find Cotehele House and Grounds, managed by the National Trust.
Morwellham Quay World Heritage Site is only a short drive away. They are always glad to receive group and school bookings and will guide you through the areas enchanting industrial past.
A little further west and east you will find easy access to Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, making the Delaware Centre an ideal base from which to plan walking, biking, climbing and canoeing adventures.
If you wish to be guided on activities around the local area then our expert team of instructors can be available to book whilst on your stay.
The Centre provides some essential activity-based resources for group leaders to manage with their students in the evenings. Indoor Orienteering, K-nex, Smite and an outdoor climbing/traverse wall.
We also have our extensive rear field which is suitable for wide-games of all sorts. Regardless of these activities we do recommend that you plan ahead for other activities that your students can undertake throughout the evening.
These activities comes at an additional cost to your original booking. Please speak to the Centre staff if you feel this service appeals.
