Canoe Kayak Awards
British canoe union/UKCC – Canoe and/or Kayak 3 Star Award
The British Canoe Union (BCU/UKCC) awards scheme changes at the 3 star award, where each candidate must gain proficiency awards for any specific craft in the paddle sport range. Therefore you must gain a 3 star in kayak and a separate 3 star in open canoe, and similarly for sea kayak etc. Depending on your previous experience within paddle sport we may be able to progress your star award level to 3 star whilst on the programme.
The Details
The following details are for the full Outdoor Instructor Training Course that includes all of the components in the left hand menu.
Course dates: 22nd October 2012 – 2nd April 2013
Course duration: 22 weeks – 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesdays) with a 2 week Christmas break
Times: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm (approx)
Cost: £2,600 (non-residential)
Prerequisites: None, however some experience would be a distinct advantage as all training and qualifications are dependent on ability and levels of learning.
