Outdoor Instructor Training
This winter we are offering outdoor instructor training opportunities at Porthpean Outdoor Education Centre.
This course will enable you to gain skills and qualifications that will enhance your employment prospects in the Outdoor Industry and also in jobs requiring good team working and people skills. You will have the opportunity to gain the following nationally recognised qualifications:
- Canoe and Kayak Instructor (BCU/UKCC)
- Level 1 Mountain Bike Instructor (MIAS)
- First Aid in the Outdoors (HSE)
- RYA Level 1/2 Power Boat
- British Orienteering Coach (BOF) – Level 1 and 2
- Cornwall Council Locally Approved Awards in archery, high ropes, climbing wall supervisor, orienteering, team building and problem solving
All of the outdoor training and qualifications available to you through Cornwall Outdoors is nationally recognised, giving you the flexibility to work anywhere in the country!
The Details
The following details are for the full Outdoor Instructor Training Course that includes all of the components in the left hand menu.
Course dates: 22nd October 2012 – 2nd April 2013
Course duration: 22 weeks – 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesdays) with a 2 week Christmas break
Times: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm (approx)
Cost: £2,600 (non-residential)
Prerequisites: None, however some experience would be a distinct advantage as all training and qualifications are dependent on ability and levels of learning.
