We offer annual full-time and part-time outdoor instructor training courses throughout the winter season at Cornwall Outdoors. Courses are aimed at anyone who would like to train to become an outdoor activities instructor.
With our team of highly skilled instructors we will provide ample opportunity for your outdoor leadership skills to develop and for you to finish the course with a bag of national governing body qualifications that you can use throughout the adventure activities industry.
Part-time course held at the Porthpean Centre operates as a 2 days per week for 21 weeks from 15th October 2018 to 19th March 2019. This course provides a quality introduction to the outdoor industry and will provide enough experience for you to seek employment in the outdoor pursuits industry.

Full-time course held at the Delaware Centre operates as a 5 days per week for 16 weeks. This is an Outdoor Instructor Training & Assessment Course, commencing 29th October 2018 and finishing on 1st March 2019. This course is designed to provide aspirant outdoor instructors five high-level assessment awards by the end of your time with us. This means that you are ready to work in the outdoor industry by March 2019.

If you are keen to get into the outdoor industry but haven't quite reached 18 then our free NVQ's in Activity Leadership may be just what you are looking for. These level 1 and level 2 NVQ's are designed around our adult courses and act as a natural step into the world of adventure activity instructors.

Our free NVQ courses are available for anyone aged between 16 and 18 years of age and can be undertaken at each of the three regional Centres of Cornwall Outdoors. Along with your NVQ certification you will also gain some well sought after National Governing Body awards in adventure sports like NICAS, MIAS and British Canoeing Star Award.
