Cornwall Outdoors is a provider of the British Canoeing Star Awards in paddlesport skills. We provide star awards for all levels of ability and in all types of paddlesport craft from kayak to canoe. If you are seeking training in any of the canoe or kayak disciplines contact us to discuss your needs.
British Canoeing One Star Award is a flat-water award that demonstrates an individual has basic boat control and foundation skills. The one star can be taken in any kind of paddlesport craft sit-on-top, open canoe, polo boat, sea kayak, racing canoe.
British Canoeing Two Star Award is an improvement award that helps novice paddlers further develop fundamental paddlesport skills on flat water. The emphasis is on gaining a breadth of experience, creating the desired movement of the boat and developing an understanding of how the paddle, boat and water interact.
British Canoeing Three Star Award is where the paddlesport award scheme specialises toward specific craft. Each candidate must gain proficiency for any specific craft in the paddle sport range. You can therefore gain a 3 star in a range of disciplines, for example: inland kayak, open canoe, sea kayak.
Depending on the award that you are currently taking we will spend time developing your core skills in the craft of your choice. Our experienced and qualified staff will help progress you towards success.
The star award scheme is a progressive system and it is recommended that candidates approach the awards over a number of weeks, rather than through an intensive course over a couple of days. To discuss your paddlesport development please contact us to arrange an appropriate course.
