Our experienced instructors have been delivering the NICAS syllabus for several years and some of our students have gone on to complete the awards highest level.
National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) is open to everyone, aged 7 and upwards. It was created to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement on artificial climbing structures. It can be used as a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering.
Did you know that NICAS has been used to support academic and vocational qualifications since 2008. NICAS has been mapped into the GCSE curriculum for Edexcel, OCR and AQA. Many schools and colleges use NICAS to fulfill the Physical element of the Duke of Edinburgh syllabus.
If you are interested in getting your students or even yourself started along the NICAS qualification pathway, then contact us at the Porthpean Centre 01726 72901 to find out the best way to get qualified.
You can sign up to just level 1, or better still undertake the full level 1 & 2 programme. Level 1 takes approximately two days to complete, whilst our level 1 and 2 programme will require five full days. The days can be spread out over a number of weeks or even multiple half-day sessions.
Contact us to find out the best way of building a successful pathway for your students. We can even build a level one NICAS course into your residential stay.
Visit the NICAS home page to read more about the scheme.
