Carnyorth Outdoor Education Centre is situated in west Cornwall between St Just and Pendeen. The Centre is spacious and colourful with attractive grounds and friendly staff. It is in a fantastic location with a cliff edged coast one way where old mining buildings perch and wild moorland the other way where a Bronze stone circle can be found.
Originally built in 1893 as a village school for the mining families, it is now a thriving Centre where the staff share their passion for the outdoors.
Our Carnyorth Centre is centrally heated with four large sleeping quarters, comprising two large dormitories and two smaller leaders rooms. The two larger dormitories will sleep 18 and 16 respectively in bunk beds, whilst the leaders rooms will sleep 4 and 3 respectively again as bunk beds.
To complement the sleeping quarters we have an extensive and spacious common room with comfy sofas, separate dining room and well-equipped kitchen. The Centre can be booked as both catered or self-catered experience.
The staff at Carnyorth Outdoor Education Centre can organise activities for your group, in various combinations. These are mainly for primary school groups, however some activities are suitable for all ages. Activities are available to both residential and day user groups. Evening activities are available on request as an optional extra. Please click on centre brochure link for full details of activities.
Please contact the centre for information regarding evening activity availability.
