About

“A breath of fresh air”

With over 60 years’ experience in delivering outdoor activities Cornwall Outdoors can rightfully lay claim to being the most experienced outdoor provider in Cornwall. Established in 1947 as a means to reunite and re-energise the young people of Europe after the Second World War, Cornwall Outdoors began with a set of tents in a field near Restormel Castle in mid Cornwall. Humble beginnings with a hugely ambitious aim our belief remains the same; that outdoor activities and outdoor education offer massive benefits to those who take part so we simply say, “Get out, have fun, get better!”

Young people and outdoor education remains at the core of our work but our service has expanded with a number of departments able to deliver the following:

  • professional instructor training with NGB awards
  • outdoor management development
  • courses for teachers and youth leaders
  • days out for families and friends

River, sea, moor, woodland – it doesn’t matter. Whatever your plans – education, personal development, challenge, adventure, teambuilding, simply a chilled day out – we can help you out with facilities and outdoor leaders and facilitators able to work across the length and breadth of Cornwall and, indeed, beyond. Walk, run, cycle, sail, paddle, climb, swim, scramble, we can do it all, and do it with style.

Our staff are enthusiastic, well qualified and love being out of doors. We will give you a great day out that will be fun, safe and we hope you will learn something along the way, about yourself, friends, family, colleagues, maybe something about the history or wildlife of where you are out and about.

Cornwall is a great place to live, work, play and learn, and we at Cornwall Outdoors love showing off this great county and its fabulous outdoor locations. Come and join us on the adventure of your choice and enjoy a breath of fresh air.
